WOZQ 91.9fm and Nosotras Present Maluca will be a concert and after party open to all Smith, 5 college students and guests. Through collaborating on this event our goal is to celebrate and raise awareness of the contributions of female, Latina artists on contemporary music, through exposing students to alternative, yet fun and accessible R&B/ Latin/ dance music. Maluca is an up and coming New York based Dominicana who performs ghetto-techno, latin/rap dance music. She has received high praise in NY Times Magazine and NPR’s Alt Latino. Through hosting this event, we are not only bringing quality alternative music to students in the valley, but supporting a talented woman artist in a genre in which women and latina/o artists are often not given full credit in the mainstream for their contributions.
